Primitive Man

Chapter 210: Third party

Garnt glanced at Telvi with a mixture of determination and sorrow. "Telvi, stay back! This is dangerous," he warned, his grip tightening on the sword.

Telvi ignored his plea and took a step closer. "Garnt, you can\'t just kill your own brother! There has to be another way. We can find a solution together. Killing each other is not the choice."

Garnt hesitated, torn between his duty to end the chaos and Telvi\'s plea. "Telvi, you don\'t understand. Baktou is not in control. He\'s a danger to everyone around him. Even if he was in control, he was the one who started all this. Don\'t worry, I will make sure you and his kid won\'t suffer."

Telvi\'s eyes filled with concern as she reached out to Garnt. "I don\'t care, Garnt. We can find a way to help him. Killing him won\'t solve anything. Please, there has to be another way. He did everything for us, especially for you."

Garnt met Telvi\'s gaze, his resolve waning. He lowered the sword slightly, conflicted by Telvi\'s heartfelt plea. "Telvi, I can\'t watch more people get hurt. I can\'t let Baktou destroy everything and what do you mean he did everything for me? He killed my people for me?"

Telvi took a deep breath, her voice filled with determination. "I don\'t know the details Garnt, but please believe me he did everything for a reason. We can find a way to restrain him, to bring him back to his senses. Killing him is not the answer, Garnt. Please, trust me on this."

Garnt looked at Baktou, still struggling with the effects of the DNA syringe, and then back at Telvi. His eyes softened as he considered her words. "Telvi, if you\'re wrong, everything will be lost. Do you take responsibility of your words?"

Telvi nodded, her gaze unwavering. "Believe in me, Garnt. He is not the threat," Telvi muttered but then she had a sudden realization. "Garnt, the real threat is somewhere around here. Kalina is hiding there with a metal pipe getting ready to blast everything. She came with your army and getting ready to do something bad. We should be taking care of her."

Telvi couldn\'t finish saying her words as she heard a huge sound of something exploding coming from the direction where she was pointing her hand.

The deafening explosion echoed through the chaotic battlefield, sending shockwaves reverberating through Telvi\'s entire being. The ground trembled beneath her as she struggled to maintain her balance. She quickly turned her gaze toward the source of the blast, only to witness a plume of smoke rising in the distance.

Since she had a considerable distance between her and Garnt, she wasn\'t harmed but the same cannot be said for Garnt and Baktou.

As the smoke cleared, Telvi\'s heart sank at the sight before her. Baktou lay motionless on the ground, his body charred and battered by the unexpected explosion.

"Baktou! Garnt!" She shouted seeing part of Baktou\'s shoulder dripping with blood.

Garnt, too, was sprawled nearby, his armour scorched and a pained expression etched across his face.

Telvi\'s eyes widened with horror, and she crawled towards them, ignoring the chaos around them. "No! Garnt! Baktou!" she cried, desperation evident in her voice.

The air filled with tension as Telvi reached them, her hands trembling as she checked on their injuries. Baktou\'s breaths were shallow, and Garnt groaned in pain. The ominous sound of approaching footsteps caught Telvi\'s attention, and she turned to see Kalina, the orchestrator of this destructive turn of events, advancing with a malevolent smile.

"So much for your grand plans, Garnt," Kalina sneered and looked at Telvi. "Your heroes have fallen, and soon, this entire battlefield will be nothing but ashes. For every single second, I had to survive in that damn forest, all of you will pay. As soon as I kill Garnt, next is going to be your husband who thought that he could use me for his own advantage."

Telvi glared at Kalina, her eyes flashing with defiance. "You won\'t get away with this, Kalina. We will stop you."

Kalina chuckled, her gaze fixated on the rings on Telvi\'s bloody hands. "Stop me? Oh, my dear, how are you going to do that? You can\'t even save yourself. The power they once held is fading, just like your hopes. Baktou is strong, but these cannons are stronger."

Suddenly, another cannon shot thundered through the air, this time targeting the heart of the ongoing battle between Baktou\'s forces and Garnt\'s loyal men. The explosion sent shockwaves through the already chaotic conflict, amplifying the screams of soldiers caught in the crossfire.

"Haha! That was fast. At least there are a few capable germs in my party. I guess once all of this is over, I will take this meteor and make sure everything is right. I will go back to my future and make sure Professor Eva falls in love with me instead of her dead daughter and useless husband, I can make her happier and I know that,"

Telvi gritted her teeth witnessing the massacre that was going on, but she couldn\'t do anything, as Kalin stepped on her hand as Telvi tried to reach for Garnt\'s dagger to stab Kalina.

Instead, Kalina took the same dagger and looked at Garnt who was still squirming from the burning wounds he got and reached toward him with a smile and held his hair and raised his body.

"Idiot! You should have stayed safely in your village but you came here, trying to fulfil the desires of my love. In that way, I respect you but the only one that professor should be leaning toward for help is me, not a dirty caveman like you,"

"Muttering those words, she tried to stab him, but suddenly she felt her face going numb. When she opened her eyes, the only thing she managed to see was the sky, as part of her face went numb.

"Guh! Wh-what?" She looked around in confusion, blood pouring out of her mouth, and a few teeth missing. She tried to figure out what happened and saw Baktou standing up with his face looking empty, covering Garnt and Telvi as if he was trying to protect them."

"You! You are still alive, damn monster," Kalina shouted throwing more and more blood out of her mouth in anger.

Telvi\'s vision blurred for a moment, her mind struggling to comprehend the sudden turn of events. As her gaze shifted, she saw Baktou standing over them, his face expressionless, seemingly protecting them from Kalina\'s onslaught.

For a brief moment, relief washed over Telvi as she thought Baktou was trying to save them. However, that flicker of hope was shattered when she noticed a subtle, yet unsettling change in Baktou\'s demeanor. His eyes, once filled with determination, were now cold and empty or more like Baktou wasn\'t even there. It was just a mass of flesh that acted on its pain.

Confusion and fear gripped Telvi as she realized that the threat they were facing had not receded; it had merely shifted focus. Baktou, once an ally, now seemed like a looming danger.

Before Baktou could launch another attack, Unami and Kara, swift and decisive, intervened. They rushed in, restraining Baktou with a combination of their weapons and abilities. The air crackled with tension as Telvi struggled to come to terms with the event she never saw coming.

"Telvi, take Garnt and go! We\'ll handle Baktou," Unami shouted, her eyes reflecting a mix of concern and determination.

Kara, with her hand tightly clutching with the same type of sword that Garnt had, approached Telvi. "We can\'t let Baktou harm you or Garnt. Trust us, and get to safety."

When Telvi looked at them, she obviously saw how injured they were as they had many wounds on their body, but Telvi wasn\'t stupid enough to say that she wanted to fight with them because she knew she would be a deadweight. read-first-on-MVLeMpYr

Still processing the shock of the explosion, the betrayal, and the chaos surrounding them, Telvi nodded numbly. She gathered Garnt, whose pain-filled groans echoed in her ears, and stumbled away from the unfolding scene. Glancing back, she witnessed Unami and Kara struggling to restrain Baktou, their voices filled with urgency.

As Telvi retreated, she noticed the dead bodies and the body parts of people that were lying around because of the battle and the cannon. She almost felt like vomiting since that was the most gory thing she had seen in her entire life, but she knew she had to stay strong right now because Garnt\'s life depended on her.

But what she didn\'t like was leaving Baktou, who is the man that she should be protecting.

"Someone! Please end this battle, I want these two to happily smile and Toga to know who really is his father, someone please put an end to this,"

Telvi kept begging hoping someone would come and put an end to this without knowing her wish was being answered, but not in a good way.
