Chapter 264: Once Again Meeting God
Harkath blankly stared at his loyal advisor for a second. After which, he turned his head slightly to the right and despondently mumbled, "She\'s too young… Just have that son of mine go in her stead."
*Tick!*
A vein formed on Ju Dong\'s head as his monocle cracked a little, and he asked, "Which son!? The one currently having difficulties figuring out what the difference between a barrel and a woman is!?"
"Ahh… Yes… My good son, Fu Xia. You should definitely arrange a marriage between him and one of the many Elven Princes." Harkath slightly nodded his head and threw a thumbs up, his tongue sticking off to the side.
*Tick! Tick!*
Veins spread out across Ju Dong\'s head as his monocle was on the verge of completely shattering!
"My Lord… I will retire… I think that is what I should do," he said with a serious voice, his body already taking slow steps outside of the Presidential Office.
"!!!"
Harkath\'s expression immediately went on alert with these terrible words spoken by his good friend (paperwork slave) as he shot off his seat. He ran over to the receding figure of Ju Dong and slid on his knees, quickly reaching his ankles.
"Please, Ju Dong! You must understand things from my perspective! What of my innocent Ming Chao!? She has a say in her own life! I can\'t just force her to marry! Think of her-"
*Bang!*
A door was slammed open as a beautiful girl with long black hair tied into a bun rushed in. She made it to Harkath\'s groveling figure in half an instant and said, "Father, you didn\'t tell me that your friends were so handsome! If you knew someone like that, you should\'ve introduced us sooner!"
Ming Chao shook her father\'s muscular body; her dazzling greens were quite literally glowing.
"!!!" Some handsome bastard!? All my friends are ugly as fuck! Who is impostering as a friend of the great me!?
Harkath stood up like a freshly sharpened pencil, and his aura transformed into an extremely deadly one!
He was about to storm out of his office and see just who had the audacity to pose as his friend!
At least, that was until a crimson-haired man entered through the cracked doors of his office. He looked like an immortal who came out of an ungodly painting, and as he leisurely strolled through the wide room, he caught sight of his target.
"It seems like you\'ve truly changed after all these years, huh? Harkath, do you still remember the words that you spoke to me all that time ago?\'
"!!!" Harkath\'s playful and faintly angry countenance lost all its sheen as he was stunned beyond belief.
However, after realizing how disrespectful he was being, his robust body fell to the marbled floor with a loud thud. His expression morphed into one of absolute reverence as he shouted, "My God, this one will forever remember what you said and bestowed upon me in the last Heavenly Transfiguration!"
"!!!" "!!!"
Ju Dong and Ming Chao looked toward the kneeling world leader as they were still trying to comprehend the situation.
Ming Chao originally wanted to hook up with Azmodeus after seeing his extraordinarily handsome appearance. But now, she didn\'t know what to feel about this man she let in through the front door on her way in…
"???"
Ju Dong, on the other hand, was thinking about something completely different.
The Past Heavenly Transfiguration??? My Lord\'s God… That must mean…
He already had a good idea of who this mysterious figure was. But to verify his speculations, he asked, "Are you the Crimson God…? The one who passed down \'A Mortal\'s Ascension\' before suddenly disappearing?"
Azmodeus turned his neutral face in the direction of the wide-eyed secretary-like man, and said, "I am indeed that person." He activated his godly backdrop halo to make sure they fully understood the truth of his identity.
"!!!" "!!!"
Ming Chao fainted right then and there, while Ju Dong wobbled and fell into a nearby black cupboard, hitting the ground with a thud.
"..." "..."
Azmodeus and Harkath suddenly looked at each other, and the former said, "You sure have some interesting people around you this time. And it seems like you found yourself a wife?"
An embarrassed look emerged on Harkath\'s gruff face as he scratched his neck and said, "Actually, I have 24 wives…"
"Oh...? We meet again, and so soon you are bragging." Azmodeus raised a brow and watched the kneeling man go through a flurry of conflicting emotions.
"N-No, My God! I would never dream of such a thing! I-I simply wanted to-" Harkath got up off the ground and started to freak out while waving his arms around. However, he was swiftly interrupted by God, saying:
"You can relax; I was just kidding. Now tell me, what happened to you for such a soft side to overtake that tyrant I witnessed in the previous you? Did being in the presence of beautiful women soften you up…?"
"Well… The truth is…"
Harkath went on to articulate just what had caused him to change so much. While he was doing so, time ceaselessly passed for the two overlord-like existences…
…
"Ahh… So it was indeed a woman, or rather, multiple women, that altered your personality to such a degree…"
Azmodeus sat on a wooden chair while listening to the woes of Harkath. By the end of this discussion, the large man lay against his seat with an awkward look on his face.
"Well, God. Life was quite chaotic for me after you left that day… And through that chaos, I met a number of women. All of whom joined me in this oh-so-solitary life of mine…-"
"There is no need to elaborate further. I have a good idea of what happened." God saved the mortal from some embarrassment and took something out of his storage ring.
"Here, you can use this to better progress your cultivation through the Omega Realm," he said.
"!!!!" Harkath jumped off his office chair and hit the ground running as he fervently thanked God for his magnanimous gift.
