Chapter 375: That Tree Is Alive...
Azmodeus wanted to keep hunting like this all day long, but as with all good things, they always come to a saddening end…
"It\'s time to head back," he declared as his peak Grade 9 All-Encompassing Realm aura fluctuated a little with the disappearance of his physical body.
Reducing in quality, it quickly went from Grade 9 to Grade 7, then to Grade 5, and finally back down to his original Grade 2 All-Encompassing Immortal Realm cultivation base.
He then made his way to where he could sense hundreds of heat signatures, ranging from the peak Great Pinnacle Golden Immortal Realm to the Celestial Realm and beyond. All were Knight Apprentices, and they were waiting for the Drill Instructor to appear in the wide, open grass field they were gathered in.
"Hmm?"
Upon seeing that even the senior Knight Apprentices beyond the Celestial Immortal Realm were beaten and battered, Azmodeus couldn\'t stop himself from anticipating the loot that was to come.
"Well done, maggots!"
Interrupting his thoughts was the sudden appearance of the stone-faced Drill Instructor. Just his presence alone caused the grass fields to rapidly blow around and spiral at his beck and call.
"It\'s now time to come over here announce how many times you either ran away or killed an Immortal Beast," he shouted. "And our truth tester will be able to tell if you\'re lying, so don\'t even think about it!"
"Yes, sir!"
Everyone formed a straight line, with the older first-generation students standing at the very front of this line. Quickly announcing their results, the line shortened at a noticeable pace.
After a few minutes passed, it was finally time for Azmodeus to announce what he got. And from what he could gather, the average result was around 120, so that\'s precisely what he answered with.
For a newbie, this was already quite good; thus, the Drill Instructor lightly nodded before listening to the results of the last few students.
\'Looks like even that magical device is unable to tell if I\'m lying,\' Azmodeus thought as he returned to the back of the group of Apprentices.
After the announcements were done and over with, the Drill Instructor looked toward all the apprentices. "Those of you who failed will not be eating today!" He shouted.
"!!!" "!!!"
More than 80% of the newbie Knight Apprentices were unable to get anywhere close to 100 Morning Points, and now they weren\'t allowed to eat for today!?
Did the Drill Instructor wish for them to starve!?
"Drill Instructor sir! Don\'t you think this is a little excessive—!?"
Before a Newbie Knight Apprentice could even finish what he was saying, the Drill Instructor shot his menacing glare at this boy and drilled into his very soul.
"!!!"
The Knight Apprentice nearly pissed himself in fright!
"What was that, boy?"
"N-Nothing, sir! Please ignore this worm!"
The Knight Apprentice bowed at an angle in deep reverence and sweated buckets from all pores.
"The next time I hear any more shit, I\'m throwing the shitstain who spoke up into the Gnarlax Pit!! Is that understood!?"
"Sir, yes, sir!!" Everyone shouted in unison.
After all the Knight Apprentices realized their place in this dynamic, the day continued as per usual in the Omega Dome. Next were lessons on the conduct and history of the Omega Knights, then came more training with the Drill Instructor, this time being hand-to-hand and 1 on 1 fight training.
Then came lunch, afternoon martial arts training, and finally, reading ancient scriptures and techniques in the afternoon, all found in the Omega Library.
Sleep was what ended Azmodeus\'s first day as a Knight Apprentice…
His results for the day: completely average.
However, his actual results:
{[Grade 8 All-Encompassing Immortal Realm cultivation base]}
{[Grade 1 Celestial Immortal Realm Battle Power]}
With the day having been a complete and utter success, Azmodeus fell into the land of dreams and woke up bright and early the very next day.
He woke up quite early, and as such, he figured he\'d walk around campus before meeting with the Drill Instructor the same as the day before. As he strolled throughout campus grounds, he noticed a few things that he hadn\'t previously paid any attention to. One of which just so happened to be the clear sectioning of generations between students.
The 1st Generation students all lived in the outer dorms, and deeper into the Omega Dorm were the 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation students. They lived in what looked like different worlds, separated by shimmering, pearlescent filaments.
\'So that\'s why I\'ve never seen a 2nd Generation student,\' Azmodeus thought as he touched the barrier filament.
"!!!"
Almost immediately feeling a countermeasure for contact being activated, he retracted his hand and resumed his walk. He still had around fifty minutes before Jimmy woke everyone up; thus, he decided to settle down by a large tree on the Northern side of the 1st Generation grounds.
Azmodeus then tipped his sun hut over his head and dozed off, planning to pass time while circulating Elusive Ascension.
However, in the middle of his slumber, he was abruptly woken up by a soft, feminine hand brushing against his shoulder. Turning his head up and looking toward the one who tapped him, he saw a truly breathtaking sight.
In front of him stood a twenty-year-old woman with long silver hair, light misty blue eyes, and a devastatingly beautiful body. She wore a frilly white sundress and pretty, white-laced heels. Overall, she looked like a rare, exotic beauty from Russia.
Pulling a few strands of her silver hair behind her right ear, she bent down a bit lower, further accentuating her barely visible milky white breasts.
"Are you new around here?" she asked with a dazzling smile. "Because this tree is not what you think it is," she added with a low giggle.
"Not what I think it is?" Azmodeus parroted. "Is this not a normal tree?"
"No," she replied with another light laugh as she pointed to the tree behind Azmodeus. "That tree is alive in the truest sense, and her name is Delilah."
