My Lady, To Defeat Scumbags You Must Start Early

Chapter 82 - 82: The End of Nie Xiaofei (3) Miserable and Desperate!

After finishing the phone call with Yi Wenhan, Nie Wenzhi lay down for a while. Still somewhat unsettled, she decided to get up from bed after all.

At this moment, only Qin Ciling was in the hall.

Song Zhizhi had returned home and headed straight to her room with Luo Xiaolang, and Song Zhidao had retreated to his own room as well.

Upon seeing Nie Wenzhi get up, Qin Ciling with a somber expression said, “Why do you keep torturing yourself like this? What are you getting up for now?”

“Mom…” Nie Wenzhi’s eyes welled with tears, “I know I’m to blame for everything that happened.”

“Fine. If Song Shan isn’t holding any grudges, I, an old woman, won’t say anything either. Stop crying and making it seem like I’m bullying you.”

Wiping her tears away, Nie Wenzhi weakly said, “Mom, I’m going to visit Xiaofei in the detention center.”

“Why would you go see that low-born wretch?” Qin Ciling said through gritted teeth at the mere mention of her.

“I also want to ask her why she would do such an evil thing. I want to give Zhizhi an explanation.”

“Whatever you want!”

Only after saying more pitiable words did Nie Wenzhi leave the Song family compound.

As soon as she got into the sedan, Nie Wenzhi regained her cold demeanor.

She didn’t really need to see Nie Xiaofei, but she was curious to learn what Song Zhizhi had told her.

In the back of her mind, she was still on high alert for Song Zhizhi. Even when Song Shan announced his forgiveness for her, Nie Wenzhi suspected it was part of another plot by Song Zhizhi to secure a stronger trust from Song Shan.

It had to be said that over the years, Song Shan had truly come to like her. If Song Zhizhi were to insist now on divorcing her, this could cause a rift between her and her father. It could even make Song Shan feel indebted to her, which would affect his relationship with his daughter Zhizhi.

If what she suspected was true, then Song Zhizhi was really something. She had learned to win people’s hearts by making concessions. And to do so steadily and calmly at the young age of 21 was mind-boggling.

While thinking about these things, she arrived at her destination.

Nie Wenzhi followed the proper procedures, and then saw Nie Xiaofei.

When Nie Xiaofei saw her mother, she cried out excitedly, “Mom, you finally came to visit me, I can’t describe how dirty and scary it is here. I can even hear the rats squeaking. Mom, get me out of here, I want out.”

Nie Wenzhi remained silent.

Seeing her mother not speaking, Nie Xiaofei grabbed her hand, “Mom, you love me most, don’t you?

You can’t bear to see me suffer, can you? This place is full of men… smelly, foul men. I can’t stand it.”

Nie Wenzhi pushed Nie Xiaofei’s hand away. “Xiaofei, I’m in a precarious situation myself now.” Nie Xiaofei’s face changed instantly, and she looked at her mother, dumbfounded.

“But rest assured, once you get out, I will make things better for you.” Nie Wenzhi was still lying to Nie Xiaofei, still making false promises.

Nie Xiaofei looked at her mother.

Nie Wenzhi didn’t care about Nie Xiaofei’s feelings anymore, she asked directly, “Xiaofei, I heard Song Zhizhi visited you.”

“So, you’re here to ask what Song Zhizhi said to me, right?” Nie Xiaofei asked coldly.

“I’m under enormous pressure from Song Zhizhi now, if I don’t get rid of her soon, I can’t live a peaceful life. Do you want a peaceful life after you get out?” Nie Wenzhi gave an ambiguous response.

Nie Xiaofei laughed.

Her laugh was cold. “I’ve already lost all my dignity and have been cursed and spit on by people. Do you think I’ll still be of use once I get out?”

“What are you talking about?!” Nie Wenzhi’s face darkened.

“Isn’t it true? Haven’t you been using me all along? Using me to achieve your goals! When have you ever truly cared about how I feel?”

“Have you gone mad? Haven’t I done enough for you? Always considering your needs…”

“You’re always considering your own needs. Did you ever ask me if I wanted to do everything you’ve had me do? You brought me to the Song family, brainwashed me into being jealous of Song Zhizhi, had me kill her pet dog, seize her man, miscarry, manipulate the servants… everything you had me do, you’re using me to do everything. And you… you reap the benefits. Cleverly enough, you can always evade the blame when things are exposed!”

Nie Wenzhi couldn’t believe what she was hearing from Xiaofei.

All of those she had controlled were beginning to turn against her.

Her machinations had always been seamless, and Nie Xiaofei’s intellect couldn’t have thought of all this on her own.

She was taken aback, “Did Song Zhizhi tell you something?”

“So, it’s true, isn’t it?”

“She’s babbling nonsense!”

“I feel awful!” Nie Xiaofei said, “Mom, I gave you all my heart, I even thought I would bear everything that happened. But I’m hurt. I’ve always wanted your love, your recognition… but what have you turned me into? A tool? A tool for achieving your goals…” “Slap!” She was met with a resounding slap to the face.

Nie Wenzhi gazed at her coldly.

At that moment, it seemed that Nie Xiaofei couldn’t even feel the pain anymore. She just kept laughing a chilling laugh.

“Enough! I don’t want to hear your nonsense, tell me what Song Zhizhi said to you!” Nie Wenzhi exploded furiously.

“I won’t tell you!” Nie Xiaofei said defiantly, “I won’t tell you even if I die!”

“Nie Xiaofei, are you rebelling against me?!” Nie Wenzhi was shaking with rage.

“I’m useless anyway, why should I keep serving you?”

“Nie Xiaofei!” Nie Wenzhi ground her teeth in anger. Nie Xiaofei was undeterred. She said, “If you’re not here to get me out, please leave.”

“Why are you always opposing me, Xiaofei?”

“I’m just trying to find a balance for myself. At least I’m not dumb enough to obey your every command!”

“Fine!” Nie Wenzhi rose and stormed out angrily.

Seeing her mother’s cold departing figure, Nie Xiaofei felt a chill in her heart.

She shouted, “You can’t win against Song Zhizhi!”

Nie Wenzhi paused for a moment but did not look back.

Nie Xiaofei’s eyes were reddening by the second. She returned to her solitary cell in the detention center which, as she had described, was narrow, dirty, cold and damp. Every passing police officer added to the gloomy atmosphere.

She huddled in a corner, hugging her knees.

After what seemed an eternity, the sound of footsteps echoed from the door.

Nie Xiaofei looked up, a feeling of dread washing over her! She screamed out in fear…

Soon after, she died in prison..
