My Lady, To Defeat Scumbags You Must Start Early

Chapter 428: 428: Reaching Cooperation, Three Years is Not Long (Third Update)

“It’s important. I’d like to schedule a meeting with you. Do you have time?”

As Xin Zaozao sat in her office, looking at her schedule, she said, “I’m fully booked today. If it’s not urgent, I can meet you tomorrow morning.”

“It’s urgent,” Yin Qin insisted. “If you don’t mind, I can wait for you today, no matter how late.”

“At 7 pm, I’ll be busy until then.”

“I’ll be at your office at 7 o’clock.”

“Okay.”

“Then I won’t disturb you.”

“Hmm.”

After hanging up, Xin Zaozao turned her gaze to Song Lifei sitting across from her.

Song Lifei asked, “Yin Qin from the Milky Way?”

“Hmm.”

“The situation within the Milky Way seems quite unstable recently. Yin Qin must be seeking a partnership.”

“I know.” Xin Zaozao had guessed Yin Qin’s intentions the moment he called.

As expected, Ji Baijian was prescient. His suggestions to reserve some funds for Yin Qin indicated that he foresaw this day coming.

“My personal suggestion is not to intervene in the current conflict within the Milky Way. Nobody can tell whether Yin Qin or Weng Cheng will eventually gain control of the Milky Way. If we make the wrong bet, we will be the ones to lose. It’s not just that the Milky Way could pose a threat to us. If Weng Cheng gains control over a significant portion of the Milky Way, then any company partnering with Yin Qin will likely suffer considerable financial loss and be blacklisted by the Milky Way. It’s worth mentioning that the Milky Way, as a news and technology media company, is not one to be trifled with. Its targeted negative coverage could harm us.”

“I’m aware of these advantages and disadvantages,” Xin Zaozao said. “However, considering all these, I will approach this matter from a friend’s standpoint.”

“Chairman, please don’t let emotions cloud your judgment.”

“If you choose to stay cold when a friend is in dire need, what will you mean to him when he triumphs? I know you’re looking at this from the company’s perspective, and your point makes sense. Likely, all companies in Jin City would agree. But at this moment, do you think anyone will help Yin Qin?”

Song Lifei was at a loss for words.

“Let’s not discuss this anymore. We were discussing something else. I have a ribbon-cutting ceremony in 30 minutes for a new project commencement. You’re running out of time to pitch your plan.”

Song Lifei nodded.

He was beginning to realize that Xin Zaozao was unlike any leader he had worked with before.

Xin Zaozao could be cold and aloof, dealing with most matters calmly and rationally. But she was also emotional, especially when it came to genuine friendships. Even when facing a potential abyss, she would go in without hesitation.

Perhaps that’s why Xin Zaozao could captivate him so.

Previously, he had merely been curious about Xin Zaozao, intrigued by her unique personality that made a man like Mu Cidian love her so deeply and desperately. However, after truly getting to know her, he began to understand why Mu Cidian was so hopelessly in love with Xin Zaozao to the point of self-destruction.

Indeed, Xin Zaozao had a certain captivating appeal.

She seemed to have some sort of magnetic pull that made it impossible not to be drawn to her once you truly got to know her.

And she seemed completely unaware of it!

At 6:40 pm.

Xin Zaozao returned to Xin Group.

As she walked towards her office, she instructed her assistant, organizing the day’s work.

Just as she reached her office door, she saw Yin Qin and his secretary waiting for her.

Xin Zaozao was taken aback.

“Carry on with your work,” said Yin Qin.

Xin Zaozao briefly nodded, before entering her office with her assistant.

She quickly and efficiently arranged her work. Checking the time, it was 6:55 pm.

She stood up, turned to Yin Qin waiting outside and said, “Sorry to have kept you waiting.”

“Not at all, I arrived early.”

“Come in.”

Yin Qin entered Xin Zaozao’s office.

His secretary waited outside.

Xin Zaozao instructed her secretary to make Yin Qin a cup of coffee.

The two of them sat in Xin Zaozao’s office.

Yin Qin began, “I’m here to meet you today because I believe you are aware of what I need, given the rumors flying about outside.”

“Please go ahead.” Xin Zaozao responded politely.

“This is my financing plan. Please take a look and I’ll explain as you read.”

Xin Zaozao took the document.

This was the first time she formally accepted something from Yin Qin.

Yin Qin always seemed casual, but this time he was particularly serious, and it didn’t feel out of place.

It was as if one day, Yin Qin was bound to become a successful elite!

Xin Zaozao read the plan while listening to Yin Qin explain, “Currently, I am restructuring the role selection program for ‘Hall of Heaven’. The major issues I’m facing include the original sponsors planning to retract their investment, which would require me to pay a hefty penalty for breach of contract. In addition, I plan to acquire ‘Hall of Heaven’ production team, with the Milky Way investing in its production. The acquisition would cover the payment of penalty fees for breaching contracts with originally chosen actors.”

“What gains can I expect from this?” Xin Zaozao cut to the chase.

Yin Qin was surprised by the command and charm Zaozao exuded during negotiation, contrary to the usually gentle and weak impression she portrayed.

“Here is my proposed profit distribution ratio. Your investment would be approximately 130 million. We’ll split the profits 60/40, 60 for you, 40 for me!” Yin Qin replied decisively.

“So, you predict a profit of 350 million?”

“Yes.” Yin Qin nodded.

“So, I could potentially earn around 80 million.” Xin Zaozao did the math, “That’s about a yield rate of 38%, not very high.”

“Indeed, it’s not high, and the risk is substantial.” Yin Qin stated candidly.

Xin Zaozao nodded in agreement.

“However, if I succeed, you will have a stake in all the profitable projects of the Milky Way, as long as you are interested in them.”

“Fine.” Xin Zaozao agreed immediately.

Yin Qin was taken aback at Zaozao’s swift agreement.

Though they were good friends and had interacted several times, he didn’t expect Zaozao to agree so readily. He thought he might have had an easier time negotiating with Mu Cidian. He even considered approaching the Jihong Group. But he was hesistant, as the Jihong Group was still under the control of Ji Yunlei. Ji Yunlei, a wily old fox, would certainly not take risks rashly. Rejection was highly likely, and then he would have to ask Baijian for assistance. However, he didn’t wish to involve himself with Yunlei’s businesses. Baijian’s entire fortune seemed reserved for something special. After much thought, he believed conventional financing was the best way to proceed.

Indeed.

One must always try.

Without trying, failure was certain.

He said, “Aren’t you going to reconsider?”

“You don’t want me to agree?” Xin Zaozao replied with a smile.

“Of course not! I’m just afraid you might regret.”

“I won’t regret.” Xin Zaozao said, “Give me the official contract tomorrow. Once the contract is signed, I will instruct finance to transfer the money to your company’s account.”

“Thank you.” Yin Qin said solemnly.

Xin Zaozao laughed, “It’s just a business collaboration, no need to be so serious. I am hoping you will bring me profit.”

“Okay.”

“Any other matters?” Xin Zaozao asked.

“No.” Yin Qin responded, “Would you like to dine together?”

“Thanks, but I really can’t tonight. I have some matters to attend to.”

“You’re always so busy, aren’t you tired?” Yin Qin asked.

Xin Zaozao paused.

She replied, “Aren’t you tired, always working so hard?”

“I have no choice, our family is in such a mess. There’s nothing I can do.”

“Same here.” Xin Zaozao replied.

“Actually…” Yin Qin started, “Three years isn’t that long. It’s already been almost half a year.”

Xin Zaozao chuckled, “As far as I’m concerned, it’s already over.”

Yin Qin pursed his lips.

“Take care, I won’t see you out.” Xin Zaozao said.

Clearly, she was not interested in continuing this topic any longer.

Yin Qin knew that Xin Zaozao was indifferent toward Mu Cidian’s situation!

There was no benefit to him talking more about it.

He just was not sure how Mu Cidian would change after serving his three-year sentence!

This man.

This exceedingly proud man.

What would he ultimately become!
