Chapter 315: She has no Idea
"Please, have a seat," President Greene said, gesturing to a chair next to him.
Michael took his seat, his team arranging themselves around the table.
"Mr. Reyes, we appreciate your willingness to meet with us under these circumstances," the President began. "As you know, the geopolitical tensions with China have reached a critical point. We believe whatever technology you are hiding could be an element to gain an advantage over China."
"So Mr. President you are all keen on starting a war against China," Michael asked with a serious expression. "I need you to tell me honestly. Don\'t worry, I won\'t tell a soul. Not even my mother or my girlfriend."
President Greene\'s expression became grave, and he sighed deeply. "Yes, Mr. Reyes, that is indeed the case. Our intelligence suggests that conflict with China is becoming inevitable."
"I see. And you believe my technology could give the United States a strategic advantage?"
"Precisely," the President replied. "Now, what kind of technology that you have for the allies?"
"Oh…we are talking about it right now huh?" Michael chuckled. "Are you familiar with satellites, Mr. President?"
"Satellites? Like Zeus?" President Greene echoed, his eyebrows raising in curiosity.
"Not quite," Michael replied, leaning forward slightly. "What I have is a Weather Manipulation Satellite, capable of altering weather patterns in a targeted manner. It can create extreme weather."
President Greene\'s eyes widened with interest. "Extreme weather? Explain further, Mr. Reyes."
Michael leaned in, placing his hands on the table. "The Weather Manipulation Satellite can induce storms, clear skies, or even create droughts and floods. By dispersing specific particles into the atmosphere and using high-energy laser arrays, we can control the weather in a designated area.
This can be used strategically to disrupt enemy supply lines, create favorable conditions for our troops, or even hinder enemy operations."
The room fell silent, the weight of Michael\'s words sinking in. General Matthews, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "That\'s extraordinary. How precise is this control?"
"Very precise," Michael replied confidently. "We can target specific regions with minimal collateral damage. The technology is based on advanced nanotechnology and atmospheric science, allowing us to manipulate environmental conditions accurately."
President Greene nodded thoughtfully. "And do you have the prototype?"
Michael shook his head. "No, but I have the schematics, and I believe we can build it with the help of NASA and NOAA. With their expertise and resources, we can have a functional satellite in a matter of months."
General Matthews leaned forward, his eyes sharp. "How soon can we start the construction, Mr. Reyes?"
"Immediately," Michael replied. "I\'ll need access to your top engineers and scientists, as well as a secure facility to oversee the development. Time is of the essence."
President Greene exchanged a glance with General Matthews and then nodded decisively. "You have our full support. We\'ll allocate the necessary resources and personnel. This project is now our top priority."
"Thank you, Mr. President," Michael said, feeling the weight of the responsibility settling on his shoulders. "I won\'t let you down."
"We\'re counting on you, Mr. Reyes," President Greene replied. "This technology could be the key to ensuring our strategic advantage."
"No problem…Mr. President. Now, I will take my leave…"
"Actually, Mr. Reyes, I would like to invite you to dinner tonight," President Greene interjected with a warm smile. "It\'s informal, just a chance for us to discuss things further in a more relaxed setting. Your contributions are invaluable, and I believe we can benefit from a more in-depth conversation."
Michael hesitated for a moment. It\'s going to be a long drawn-out conversation with the President, and he doesn\'t want that. He wanted to return home and be with Bridget.
"You see…Mr. Reyes, are you familiar with Viktor Gravsen?" The President asked.
"Isn\'t he the CEO of the biggest oil company in the United States? Standard Oil, was it?"
"Yes…I will tell you this, he is kind of threatened by you because of your solar technology. Similar to how Elena Skies were threatened by your Medipod that can cure cancer."
Michael\'s interest was piqued by the mention of Viktor Gravsen. He leaned forward slightly, curious to hear more.
"Why would he feel threatened?" Michael asked.
President Greene sighed and continued, "Viktor Gravsen sees your advancements in solar technology as a direct threat to his business. He\'s concerned that as renewable energy becomes more efficient and widespread, it will undermine the profitability and dominance of the oil industry."
Michael nodded thoughtfully. "I can understand his concerns. Oil is depleting at a rate in which it can no longer sustain the growing demands of our world. My goal has always been to advance technology for the betterment of humanity, not to cause conflict or threaten established industries."
"Of course," President Greene agreed. "And that\'s exactly why we need to discuss this further. You know, as the president, I have control over our economic trade policies. We want more products from established corporation such as you, Mr. Reyes. Perhaps we can discuss business that is mutually beneficial for both your ventures and the interests of the United States."
Michael considered this carefully. The President\'s offer was tempting, and the potential for collaboration on multiple fronts could be significant.
"Alright, Mr. President. I\'ll join you for dinner," Michael said, finally agreeing.
"Excellent," President Greene replied with a warm smile. "I\'ll have someone come by to escort you and Ms. Bridget to the dining room at seven."
Michael nodded and stood up, shaking hands with the President once more. "Thank you, Mr. President. I\'ll see you tonight."

Back at the hotel, Michael found Bridget waiting for him. She looked up from her book as he entered the room.
"How did it go?" she asked.
"It went well," Michael replied, sitting down beside her. "The President wants us to join him for dinner tonight to discuss things further."
Bridget nodded, understanding the importance of the invitation. "We\'ll be there. What are we going to discuss with the President?"
"Just business," Michael replied. "You know like we want to penetrate the U.S market with our products and now it\'s our chance as we are directly speaking to the President himself."
"Okay…this is getting exciting," Bridget smiled.
Michael returned a smile, she has no idea what\'s going to happen in the future.
