Chapter 70: Bad Timing.
They have fallen into the world of man but now, we shall kill them!
The gods are lost, the gods need saving! But we are not saviors!
I bring down the axe, I bring down the hammer, the seal of the undead is broken!
We are the damned, the broken and abandoned!~"
Kyle couldn\'t believe his ears. This was beautiful. The beat and bass of Ella\'s voice gave him goosebumps because it all blended in so effortlessly.
He didn\'t know her voice could reach such tunes but it was hypnotic and drew him in.
This was heavy metal and female leads paled compared to males but this was beautiful.
Kyle looked over at Isabella and could tell by a glance that this wasn\'t her kind of music.
She winced at every scream but had to endure it despite not being a fan of the music but this was exactly what Kyle knew she would be the perfect person to help assess it.
He needed the opinion of someone who didn\'t listen to this kind of music.
But the fact there were points in the song where she would sing like a pop star further highlighted that she could thrive in the music industry even if it wasn\'t rock music.
"What do you think?" Kyle asked, putting a stop to the music as they listened to enough to give an assessment.
Isabella quickly cleared her throat, composing herself but Kyle knew she might try to feed him bullshit but this was a good way to see if she was one to kiss ass and tell him what he wanted to hear as opposed to the truth.
"I don\'t fancy this sort of music, to be honest, but I have to say, I could feel the pain behind her voice. I can\'t describe it but I have goosebumps. She has also shown a wide range of vocals, she went from screaming like she was in pain to singing like an angel in the blink of an eye with no visible strain on her throat…" Isabella\'s assessment was spot on.
" That was impressive!" Kyle couldn\'t contain his surprise but understood that this was good news for Ella.
"You have excellent ears! I\'m glad that you\'re here but I need you to handle this talent for me. Any openings, any gig, run it through me first," Kyle told her and Isabella had no problems listening to her boss.
"Is there anything else?" Isabella questioned.
"What\'s with the line outside and why are there only women?" Kyle questioned, he was curious.
" The majority of our clients are women, we appeal to women more and that is our target audience even though we don\'t deny male clients an opportunity," Isabelle confessed.
This was a good enough reason for Kyle, he didn\'t need to push further.
A knock at the door alerted both of them that someone was there, it had to be Carly but Kyle knew that Isabella would have had a no-disturbance policy when he was in her office.
"What is it, Carly?" Isabella barked, trying her best to maintain her elegance in front of Kyle.
"Missus Wave is here…" Carly informed her and Kyle\'s face immediately stiffened. .
" Calista!?" Kyle thought to himself.

Jane was with Ella, she was getting discharged today but the doctor had to make sure that Ella wouldn\'t relapse and this was why he suggested that she attend an AA venue so she could talk to other addicts about her struggles.
This was her choice, he wasn\'t going to impose it on her or force her to.
"Are you okay?" Jane asked.
"I\'m great. I just need to sleep for like a week," Ella responded with a loud sigh.
"Me too… But that\'s not what I meant, I mean…" Jane paused, hesitant to complete her train of thought.
"I\'m fine, Jane. I really am," Ella responded, trying her best to convince Jane but Jane was never one to push these things.
She was a firm believer that if someone wished to tell another about something, they would and if they didn\'t, there was nothing that could be said that would make them change their mind.
And this was why she chose presence, that was just as important.
"Jane…" Ella called out her name like she was about to reveal some deep family secret.
"Yes?" Jane responded, leaning in to hear what she had to say.
"He is one of the good ones, don\'t let him go," Ella said and this was the first guy that Jane had shown interest in or had shown interest in that Ella approved.
She didn\'t know the kind of conversation she had with her older sister but there was something strange about her behavior.
It was her eyes, they looked dull like she had her lifeforce drained from her.
"I know, I won\'t mess it up. I promise you," Jane responded. She found herself wanting to ask why Cleopatra was here.
She hadn\'t seen her for a few years because Cleopatra was one of the most intimidating women she had seen.
There was something about her aura, it commanded not only respect but all eyes were always on her thanks to her unique style.
Ella tried to be like her sister, this was why her goth-like appearance wasn\'t as extreme as Cleopatra. One could mistake Cleopatra for a ghost with how pale her skin was.
"Ella, what did she say to you?" Jane could no longer contain her curiosity but Ella didn\'t say another word, she kept her mouth shut.
But Ella felt a hand grab hers tightly, she told Jane she was alright but Jane could see through her lies.
She saw through the fake bravado and this made Ella break down in tears, Jane reeled her in for a hug and that was when she finally told her.
"My p-parents… They are dead,"
