Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 211 Warm Hand

The princess could not hold back her tears. She knelt beside her father\'s bed and embraced him.

"I am here, father. I promise I won\'t leave you alone again." She said with a trembling voice. "

"Oh, my daughter..." murmured the King, who tried to hold back the tears, but couldn\'t because as he stroked her hair, as if she was still a child, he felt the warmth of her hand.

At the same time that Lídia was having her long-awaited reunion with the King, a few floors below Kaizen was trying to gain as much of the Queen\'s attention as he could, however, what he didn\'t know was that Niah had also already plotted something.

"Story summary: you want me to search for this dungeon that supposedly has the way to the lost city of the elves? Is that it?" Kaizen asked after hearing the entire historical chronicle about elves and lost treasures of the Tretidian Kingdom.

"Exactly. I believe that this dungeon will be exactly what you need to find the lost city of the elves and help me restore the kingdom to its former luster." The Queen said with determination.

A few seconds ago, Kaizen was bored just listening to this massive amount of information that had no connection to anything he had ever seen and tired just imagining the big job that was set before him. Exploring and clearing out unknown places was something he really enjoyed doing, but he didn\'t want to do it all the time.

While Psyker was thinking about this, Niah cast a glance at Thenomor, who nodded and then walked to the door of the throne room.

Kaizen glanced at Thenomor out of the corner of his eye and watched him go to the large doors, but the Captain of the New Kingsguard did not leave the room, because if he had done that or anything that risked the completion of the mission, Kaizen would not hesitate to take Niah hostage to get the History Mission accomplished, even if it made him wanted by the entire nation.

In reality, Thenomor went to the door only to call his soldiers into the room again now that the secret matter had already been cleared up for Psyker.

The ten guards in black armor entered and positioned themselves beside each of the ten pilasters.

Thenomor also quietly returned to his seat beside Queen Niah. During those seconds, Kaizen finally had time to think better about what was going on in this mission so far.

First of all, Niah tried to get him under her control right upon his arrival and only failed to do so because Kaizen was able to resist her magic thanks to his Intelligence. Kaizen managed to act well as someone who was being controlled and this was enough to convince Niah that his answers were sincere. However, soon another problem arose and this problem had a suit, black hair, swords and a name, Thenomor.

Secondly, Thenomor seemed to be someone so strong that he trusted his own ability to protect the Queen enough that he asked all the guards to leave the room so they wouldn\'t eavesdrop on a secret matter, even though he had apparently watched with his own eyes the Psyker\'s battle against Taznaar. This could only mean that Thenomor was either too powerful or too trusting.

Either of these two hypotheses raised the following question: if Thenomor was so strong that he could protect the Queen by himself in the event of any attack by the Psyker, why would he call the guards into the throne hall again?

Obviously, there were hundreds of simple answers to that question. Perhaps it was for, as Thenomor himself once spoke of, assurance. Or even because it could be standard procedure...

However, Queen Niah\'s silence as the soldiers entered and organized themselves was not something common. Yes, Kaizen knew little about this character, but she certainly didn\'t seem like the kind of person who waits for her subordinates to get ready to speak. Considering her personality, it would be somewhat normal for her to start discussing values and proposals while the soldiers returned to their positions, yet only silence lingered.

\'Something is definitely going on here...\'

The silence of the room was very similar to the awkward silence in a play between one scene and another, and someone like Kaizen would not fail to notice this strange atmosphere, Niah sensed it.

The moment the Psyker raised his head again and looked the Queen directly in the eyes, he understood what was happening.

\'Humph! A mediocre ambush like that doesn\'t even surprise me.\'

One of the New Kingsguard soldiers who was standing on Psyker\'s side took off his helmet and dropped it on the floor. The metallic sound echoed through the throne room and served to break the silence of the room and intensify it at the same time.

*Timmm, timmm…*

The helmet rotated by a few inches, and Kaizen merely turned his eyes to look at this soldier standing on the pilaster to his left. Although Kaizen was aware that for some reason he was now surrounded, he had no idea of the reason for this until the moment he saw that the soldier to his left was actually Leohorn, a member of the Desert Lion Guild and Kaizen\'s sworn enemy.

Leohorn\'s wild look was unmistakable, as was his beard and hair worthy of a Viking who hasn\'t bathed in many months.

"At last we meet again, Kaizen." Leohorn said to Psyker as he stared at him with a pleased smile.

Then, to Kaizen\'s right, another man took off his helmet and dropped it on the ground as well. As if he were a famous model, the first thing this other man did was to tidy up his red-toned hair mixed with brown. This was Taznaar himself.

"Leo, you really are an idiot. Why did you reveal yourself so quickly? Now he\'s going to want to resist, what a bummer..." stated Taznaar, dispassionately.

Then one soldier after another in the hall took off their helmets, revealing their identities. Lara, Clissor and among other members of the Desert Lions Guild revealed themselves. All of them were players with a level higher than 50.

Evidently, this was something Kaizen had not expected even in his worst nightmares. Kaizen knew he had nowhere to run, as there were players who were stationed on all sides of the room, and even if he managed to escape the throne room, he would be chased by dozens of soldiers. Kaizen hated to admit it, but this time he was so screwed up that he could compare himself to someone swimming in a pool of shit.

"What do you guys want?" Psyker asked, trying to remain calm.

"It\'s simple, man. You\'re going to pay for everything you\'ve done against our Guild. And against me, too. Did you think I would let that public humiliation go cheap?" Taznaar stated.

Kaizen could feel the tightening of Taznaar\'s companions, who were approaching from all sides of the room, and he could also feel how his own heart was beating harder. He had no choice, nowhere to run.

"You have won." Kaizen raised both arms into the air.

Everyone immediately was dumbfounded, because they never thought Kaizen would surrender, nor that forcing him to do so would be so easy.

Niah smiled mockingly.

"I repeat, you won, I admit it without shame. You want revenge, and let\'s face it, there\'s practically no chance of me beating all of you here... However, the chances being very low for my side doesn\'t stop me from still trying to survive, does it?" Psyker asked, smiled, and then advanced against the Viking to his left.

Kaizen didn\'t even need to use the <Analyzer Eye> to know that Leohorn was the player with the class with the most emphasis on melee battle. Also, since entering the room Leohorn seemed to be uncomfortable in the New Kingsguard armor, as if he was wearing something much heavier than the armor he normally wears.

Psyker advanced against Leohorn and everyone else immediately began to advance against him as well, except Queen Niah and Thenomor. It was a battle of ten players against one.

Since Leohorn had watched Kaizen\'s battle in the Arena, he already knew that Kaizen was someone very dangerous and that one should be as cautious as possible, so he didn\'t think twice about using the black spear to attack him to keep him at a distance.

The Viking\'s attack movement was classic of someone who had never even wielded a spear. His blow was loud, slow and too horizontal.

Kaizen easily dodged the movement, went around Leohorn\'s spear and kicked him in the right knee, making him fall to his knees on the ground.

Kaizen then took the opportunity to grab Leohorn\'s spear and hurl it hard toward the crowd of players advancing toward him.

Using <Telekinesis> to rotate from the handle to the sharp point of the weapon, the spear spun very fast as it flew, and some players managed to dodge it, but those further back couldn\'t even see it coming so fast it was and it caused one boy to get hit in the chest.

The player named Proudpike was thrown backwards and only stopped when the spear drove into a pillar along with him. Even this was not able to kill him.
