Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 243 Lock

Then all he needed to do was raise his right hand while confidently looking at these beings without consciousness. A huge amount of energy was drawn around Kaizen, and his characteristic villainous smile appeared.

[Activating Class Skill <Telekinesis>.]

Instantly, the gravity of the entire chamber completely changed, like from water to wine, and all of his enemies suddenly felt a huge weight under their backs. This weight felt by them was so great that it did not allow them to even move, let alone take a step forward.

Kaizen knew that he could do this from the beginning, because all these enemies were only level 5, only at no time did he think that by slicing these beings they would start multiplying. So even with all the enemies locked in, Kaizen didn\'t make the same mistake as before to attack them. He simply started walking among the enemies as calmly as if he were walking in a park.

He dodged every single one of those zombie people, and when he reached the hall where the tables were decorated with flowers, after he had passed all the enemies, he turned in the direction he came from and snapped his fingers, thus creating a fireball. Then Kaizen threw this fireball onto the floor, and the fire quickly spread to the wooden walls as well as the furniture.

The zombies were soon able to move again, as even Kaizen could not hold them back forever while using two different abilities. Even with the fire consuming their clothes and burning their skins, they totally ignored their basic sense of pain and continued with their eyes fixed on the Psyker. However, when they tried to run to the room of tables, where they were before, to attack him, Kaizen erected a barrier with <Telekinesis>, trapping them in the entrance area and part of the party room area.

Even though these creatures of inexplicable origin could ignore the pain of the fire that gradually consumed them, they could not change the fact that they were being charred as they tried at all costs to reach Kaizen.

[Congratulations! You have just risen to level 55!]

Kaizen was surprised to evolve this time, because he didn\'t remember evolving so many levels in the past few days. In fact, he was so focused while forging the armor for the Royal Guard, as King Spelloyal requested him to do, that he completely forgot about himself for a while and didn\'t even care about all the experience and attribute points he gained while doing so.

As he watched the Spirit Puppets burn, Kaizen, curious about how much he had evolved, casually slid his right finger down and opened the system interface.

\'Eh! 55 luck! I spend three whole days forging and still can\'t evolve this shit?! These developers have got to be kidding me!

Annoyed with the system, Kaizen unconsciously turned his back on the hall. A moment later, the incessant crackling sound disappeared, as did the previously so intense classical violin music.

At that moment he automatically looked back and realized that his enemies vanished from one second to the next, and they vanished not because they turned to ash, but because something made them disappear along with the entire scenery, as if someone had just pressed the Delete button on the keyboard.

In the place where the entrance and the hall with the tables were, a wall of darkness appeared, just like the one that had trapped him a few minutes ago. Confused about what was happening, Kaizen looked in front of him again and saw that there was now a long corridor before him.

\'Was that here the whole time?\' Kaizen wondered.

The corridor before him was dark, but somehow it was possible to see into it.

The walls of this corridor, which seemed endless because it was so long, were covered with a green wallpaper with lozenges, and the carpet on which Psyker was walking was brown and velvety, but none of this mattered to Kaizen from the moment the candelabra, tied to his belt, began to tremble.

Kaizen took the candlestick with his right hand, and as he placed it in front of his body, he felt the object tremble even more intensely, pulling him forward.

Obviously he had no idea why this was happening, but since there was no other way for him to go than the way the candlestick was pulling him, he started to proceed.

The place was cold, and for some reason the fog, once so thick outside the manor house and throughout the village as well, had vanished the moment Kaizen closed the front door. Thousands of questions about the reason for this surrounded the Psyker\'s mind, but he remained attentive as he progressed down the hall.

Kaizen walked for about two minutes until suddenly he stopped.

It had already become impossible to ignore the feeling that there was something behind him. It was a feeling of constant observation and maybe some ordinary people wouldn\'t realize this until it was too late, except that Kaizen, being who he is, was always focused on his surroundings, especially in a situation like this.

The chandelier kept guiding him forward, but Kaizen ignored it this time and turned back. At this moment he saw the entire space of the long corridor he had walked in so far, and there was nothing very different from when he had passed. The carpet was still brown and the green wallpaper was still the same. However, yes, there was a small different detail to the left of him on the wall. That thing was not a claw mark, a painting, or a light fixture. This thing that stood out against such a conforming backdrop was just one rhombus among the thousands of them.

Even as Kaizen looked at this very strange rhombus, this thing did not move, glow or open, as Kaizen had expected it to. That being the case, Kaizen looked at his MP bar and upon making sure he still had plenty of mana left, he used another one of his abilities.

[Activating Class Skill <Analyzing Eye>.]

Psyker\'s pupils glowed gold and a screen appeared before him, proving his feeling wasn\'t wrong.

Thus, Kaizen immediately understood what was happening. As it turned out, he was not being hindered by the Evil Spirit, but by a mere Cursed Spirit with no name.

So Kaizen smiled and moved closer to the rhombus in which this creature was hiding.

If ghosts could sweat and shiver, Kaizen would see a drop of sweat dripping off the rhombus as he approached. And then it was enough for Kaizen to raise his right hand with an ominous aura for what was inside the lozenge to finally reveal its true form.

A transparent being jumped out while laughing nervously and quickly exclaimed:

"No need for violence, sir! Put down that fist, or you will kill me! As much as I am already.... Still, I don\'t want to die!"

The appearance of the Cursed Spirit was not much different from what Kaizen expected from an ordinary ghost. This thing was the size and everything else exactly like that of a human, except that unlike the spirit of Therkara, the Cursed Spirit was much more transparent.
