Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 222 I'm Coming (2)

He made his way back to the makeshift workroom and started creating his first Void creation.

The idea of Void creation was converting surrounding energies into another. The denser the converted energies were, the better it was to solidify its form. It was how the black obelisk was made. It was composed of different types of energies that had been converted into Void energy.

In this plane, Kyran already understood that although there were no energies in the surroundings, each creature possessed it in their bodies. As long as the part of their body remained intact, they would be able to replenish it. On how it happened, Kyran could only guess that it had something to do with their blood. Since blood flows in every part of the body, it can nourish the energy of any organ. It also answered why blood was needed in Void creation in this place.

To make a better comparison, blood in this plane was similar to the surrounding energies in the Human plane.

\'I will not have any shortage of energy for Void creation in our plane but here,\' Kyran could not help but sigh at how hard it was for a mage to live here, given how hard it was to replenish their own energies.

Every creature here could not possibly kill each other to collect each other\'s blood. Actually, it appeared that was the exact scenario happening in this place now. However, those offering organs to the obelisks were trying to revive the magic array his predecessor had left behind.

Thinking of this, Kyran had a better understanding of what his predecessor was trying to do in this place. He tried to stop all creatures from killing each other by making those obelisks that could create energy in the surroundings.

Still, Kyran wondered if his predecessor\'s obelisk was made to activate only when an organ was activated. He had an inkling that it was not the case. Those obelisks must be working on their own, as long as the cycle of creation was kept.

Unfortunately, something happened that stopped the cycle of creation.

\'Is solving problem, my supposed training here? If I succeed, will I be able to return?\' Kyran wondered.

He was full of anticipation to return to the Human Plane. He could not wait to practice more of the Void creation. At least in the Human Plane, he would not have any shortage of energies in the surroundings and could practice to his heart\'s content. Once he managed to perfect the Void creation, it might solve his problem of not possessing a magic weapon.

If he could create any weapon in thin air, he did not have to rush finding his predecessor\'s magic weapon or making one for himself.

Of course, Kyran still planned to find or create a magic weapon suitable for him, but that would definitely take some time.

Kyran sat cross-legged on the ground with the skull filled with dark blue blood a few feet away from him and the formless dark purple energy hovering right above it.

He took a deep breath before lifting both his hands toward the formless dark purple energy with his palm facing forward. Three small purple rings, each at least two-inch smaller than the first, appeared and danced before each of his palms.

Using his magic sense, Kyran willed the rings to hover around the formless dark purple energy while moving his hand according to the shape he wanted it to take. As soon as he moved his hand, all the purple rings pulsated. The dark blue blood in the skull started to boil and slowly rose toward the formless energy.

Beads of sweat trickled down the side of Kyran\'s face as he controlled the purple rings.

As more dark blue blood got absorbed by the dark purple energy, the energy\'s formless state began to solidify.

Soon all purple rings glowed as they moved around the energy.

Kyran\'s complexion turned pale as he sensed the remaining amount of his magic energy drop at an incredible speed. He gritted his teeth and endured the pain when his Void core crackled from the strain as his central core squeezed every remaining magic energy within.

Half an hour later, Kyran doubled over and coughed out a mouthful of blood. His body burned from exhausting all of his remaining magic energy.

\'But all of this is worth it,\' he thought as a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

A faint blue and purple glow filled the makeshift workroom.

Using his right arm to support himself, Kyran used his right to wipe the blood off his lips. Then he lifted his gaze before him at his first Void creation.

He reached out his left hand to touch the glowing object before him.

\'With this, if I ever met that man, I will be able to—.\'

BOOM!

The boulder where Kyran was, collapsed after an invisible force fell from above.

Around a thousand kilometers of the boulder had been flattened, leaving the whole land in shambles.

The force had reduced all the beast carcasses within the area to dust. Those still alive had either been crushed to death or fatally wounded. Mournful howls filled the air as these beasts struggled to stay alive.

Above a hundred meters, black mist materialized, converging in the middle. They formed into a silhouette which soon revealed the lanky man in a long red coat.

The man gazed at the destruction below with eyes full of unconcealed excitement.

How many years had passed since he last felt this excitement?

An excitement that left his whole body trembling and his blood burning, if there was one thing he regretted when he had killed the human he despised, it was the fact that he had lost a powerful nemesis. Though that human left those annoying obelisks that he had yet to destroy even to this day, he missed a good fight.

The young human might have escaped the first time they met, but it was okay. The man did not mind. Anyone had tried to flee in his presence anyway. He was used to it. But the keyword there was \'tried,\' because, in the end, they all failed.

Just like now.

This location was where the man found the young human\'s aura. It was very faint, which was why it took him some time to pinpoint the exact location. However, he already knew that a young human would have a faint aura. Because before, that \'human\' also had a very faint aura. And knowing this, the lanky man was even more convinced that \'he\' had really returned.

The lanky man walked down leisurely with a huge grin on his face. Every step he took, a black mist would appear before him, serving as a foothold.

"Come out. I know you\'re here."

He had spoken in an average volume. Still, his voice reverberated in the air, shaking the land below.

Every beast outside the thousand-kilometer radius felt their body shake from fear as soon as they heard the man\'s voice.

One after another, howls of lament filled the air.

They might not know what was happening, but their instincts told them that the sovereign of the land had come here to kill. The sovereign\'s excitement might be overshadowing his killing intent, but the fact he was excited made his appearance more fearsome.

From where the boulder had been, the rubbles shook.

"Hm?"

The man noticed this and immediately turned his attention to that location. His grin widened, and his eyes faintly started to glow.

"So that\'s where you have been hiding."

As soon as the man had spoken, a mixture of black, blue, and purple blur shot out from the rubble. The blur went straight at the man who was still in midair.

The lanky man\'s eyes glowed red as he stretched out his arms, welcoming the incoming blur.

"Good! Very good! Come let me see what you can—."

The blur stopped right in front of him, but then it suddenly shifted and disappeared.

The man\'s eyes contracted and turned at once. However, he was a fraction of a second late as a fist landed squarely on his face.

BANG!

A clean solid sound of flesh hitting flesh resounded in the air. Shockwaves broke out from the impact, and the man got blasted to the ground.

BOOM!

Another shockwave spread out as the man hit the ground. Clouds of black dirt filled the ground below.

"Sorry, I didn\'t say I\'m coming," Kyran said as he looked at the cloud of black dirt below.
