Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 568 Gathering (4)

The arrangement was similar to the Montgomeray Family. However, the effect was the opposite. Because in the Montgomeray Family, if Ezra betrayed Kyran, all of the Montgomeray Family would suffer with him. As for the Lumley Family, if any of their members betrayed the Regis Clan, they would die along with their patriarch and elders.

The Lumley Patriarch and Elders surrendered with no resistance. They had already lost their family\'s three Magus, which were supposed to be their trump cards, not to mention several of their talents, including Tobias. They never stood a chance.

One of the oldest Elders even muttered that this was retribution for what they had done in the past. Apparently, the Lumley Family caused the Regis Family to lose their status as one of the \'Three Noble Families.\'

Kyran was not interested to know what the Lumley did in the past. As far as he was concerned, his family decided to leave the noble circle on their own accord. Others did not influence it.

Besides, leaving that noble status proved to be a real blessing. The past Regis Patriarch likely thought the same. After all, being one of the Three Noble Families bound them to the other nobles, especially the Royal Family.

After affirming the Lumley Family\'s allegiance, Kyran had Eoin and Ernst manage them.

When the Lumley Patriarch and Elders found that among the Three Noble Families, both the Courtenay and the Montgomeray Families had already allied with the Regis Clan, they were even more afraid.

Seeing them act more subservient because of this, Kyran did not bother clearing the misunderstanding: the Courtenay and the Montgomeray Families were directly under him, not the Regis Clan.

Regarding Claudias, Kyran had her stay put in the western region.

Since the investigation in Noser was the Three Noble Families initiative, there was nothing to worry about, even if the Boyd Family took an interest in their activity.

Claudias was still doing what she was ordered, and Kyran was okay with that. Mimi and Zuri had arrived safely in Noser, and the plan to use them as bargaining chips to make their families submit to the Boyd Family had been ruined.

That was right. The Lumley Patriarch thought of this move to show his loyalty to the Boyd Family. Initially, he wanted to wait for Tobias\'s return and have him assist Claudias in taking Mimi and Zuri. Unfortunately, his plans were foiled, albeit inadvertently. And Ingrid did not seem to place much importance on the Lumley Family when she decided to kill their leaders.

Kyran believed Ingrid planned to take over the rest of the Lumley family members who were not in Starhorn. Whether it was a decision by the Boyd Family leaders or Haylee, he did not know. But that was unimportant.

Since Ingrid was supposed to take over the Lumley Family, the Boyd Family would definitely wait for her update. However, taking over a prestigious family like the Lumley was not something anyone could accomplish in a day. No matter how competent Ingrid was, she would need a couple of days to do that.

Nevertheless, the Boyd Family was definitely expecting news from Ingrid for the next few hours. And those few hours were Kyran\'s time limit. Once it was up and they still did not hear from Ingrid, they would likely make a move.

If not for the fact that Ingrid possessed a protective seal, Kyran would have controlled Ingrid for a moment and had her send the Boyd Family a message that everything was going accordingly. But since she possessed that seal, and he could not directly influence her with his magic, he decided to let his grandfather determine what to do with her.

Kyran might not have had a means of dealing with Ingrid, but that did not mean his grandfather was the same.

Regardless of his grandfather having a way of dealing with Ingrid, Kyran did not plan on relying on that. He would still prepare for the worse.

Before Kyran left the Lumley residence, he received a coded message from Ezra confirming that most Montgomeray members in the infirmary had recovered. Zephyr also regained consciousness and was recovering steadily.

This news somehow put Kyran at ease.

So far, everything was still going according to his scenario. There were unexpected developments, such as Emperor Euan\'s addition and the appearance of the Boyd Family. But everything was still within his expectations.

The only missing variables in the equation were his father and Nolan.

If Kyran could only confirm their status, it would help them prepare better. Unfortunately, Mannick could not see what was happening on the other side of the hole, so Nolan\'s status was still unknown.

As for Cade, Kyran initially planned to check on him, but Mannick exhorted him not to warp back to the cave.

With the Inheritance along the way, the cave had become an independent space. If Kyran warped there, the Void magic energy that came with his warp ability could affect it.

In the end, Kyran could only wait for his father to return.

"Are we going to save— err... Disciple Tyr now, young master?" Raya asked after leaving the Lumley Family\'s residence.

Kyran did not respond. He wanted to save Neo as soon as possible but admitted feeling a little hesitant.

For one thing, although the location of the Boyd Family\'s villa was south of Meliora, it was pretty close to the Royal Army\'s headquarters. If a fight ensued— which would likely happen— Kyran did not know if the three of them were enough to fight all of them.

Yes, Kyran appeared overpowered because he possessed not only Void magic but also Draconic magic. He also received baptism after the Elixir had fully amalgamated into his body. But ultimately, he was still one person. He could do everything by himself.

As a matter of fact, he was already feeling the fatigue of moving about constantly. Although he could now replenish his magic energy without worrying about getting caught, mental and physical fatigue was catching up on him.

While Kyran was contemplating this, Myst suddenly said, "Young master, why don\'t we head back first? We can discuss what to do with the rest of the clan members."

Seemingly taking a hint, Raya also nodded, "Yes, young master. Honestly, you don\'t have to take action to save Disciple Tyr. You can leave that to us. All you need to do is tell us."

"You may not know this, but with Master Cade away, your authority is second only to Patriarch Aron," Myst added. "You can order the Regis Special Force to move out."

Kyran looked at them with a slight smile. How would he not realize they were subtly asking him to rest? Was his fatigue already that obvious for these two to notice it?

"Okay. Let\'s head back," Kyran finally replied after a short pause. "I also need to check how far along the evacuation has progressed."

Myst and Raya already felt relieved when Kyran agreed. But their brows twitched when they heard his latter words. Seriously, they had one workaholic young master.

"You don\'t have to worry about that," Raya assured. "When we went back earlier, all the civilians and the little ones had already been taken out of the Inner Walls."

Myst nodded in agreement, "Your Sigils are a great help."

Kyran looked at them uneasily. It felt strange hearing them praising his Sigils when they clearly knew their identities.

"Enough of that," Kyran told them and started walking. "I know what you two are trying to do, but it is unnecessary. Since the Lumley Family did not put up any resistance, I am able to rest."

"Young master," Myst responded with a solemn expression. "That is not resting. You need a proper shut-eye."

"Right," Raya suddenly thought of something. "I remember Lady Pheobe\'s sleeping potion is pretty potent. Not that it will knock you out for hours, but because it takes effect almost instantly, and you can wake up rejuvenated even after an hour!"

Kyran could not help but give them a bitter smile. These two were really trying too hard. Without commenting about his cousin Pheobe\'s sleeping potion, he said, "Let\'s go."

Myst and Raya looked at each other helplessly. If their suggestion had been offered a few months ago, Kyran would have likely relented.

How did he change so much in just a few months?

Since they could not convince Kyran, the two could only follow.

BOOOM!

Suddenly, a thunderous explosion erupted from the sky.

They looked up and immediately saw a huge fiery ball trying to get past the huge hole in the sky.
