Legacy of the Dark Sage

Chapter 603 Breakdown

Haylee also had to accept that apart from them, the Templar Code already got the Regis Clan on their side— or, was it the other way around? Could it be the Regis Clan won over the Templar Code and had Tritus swear allegiance— probably through something similar to a Soul-binding, which was why she could not see through him?

If it had been the Soul-binding Oath, Haylee would have known. After all, it was a binding spell that originated from Soul magic.

\'No, no!\' Haylee refused to believe that she failed to see through the Regis Clan\'s plans.

The predicament the latter was in was not fake. There had been casualties and as far as Haylee was concerned, Ruin almost destroyed the Regis Clan\'s barrier...

Wait.

Where is Ruin? What\'s the current progress in the Regis Clan\'s defensive array?

Suddenly, the situation before Haylee went to awaken the Macabre Glacier flashed through her mind. She had been away for many a few days and Ruin was already on the verge of destroying the Regis Estate\'s barrier. It was the reason she did not ask him to go join Deception in Noser. What about Deception? Haylee only knew that the latter retreated and called for other Sovereigns to come. But what made Deception retreat?

What about Gael? The last time Haylee heard of him, he was with Deception.

And Lira? Where is she?

All these questions flashed through Haylee\'s mind, giving her a very bad headache.

Boom!

All of a sudden, a gray mist exploded from Haylee\'s body and circled her.

The mist was none other than the Macabre Glacier\'s sentient, who took advantage of Haylee\'s vulnerable state and attack her mind relentlessly.

"Aargh!" Haylee grabbed her head and fell to her knees.

Every Boyd family member was thrown into a frenzy after witnessing Haylee in pain.

"Princess!"

"Your Highness!"

"Quick! Protect her Highness!"

They shouted almost at the same time.

Osric also fretted at the sudden turn of events. If this had been any other time, he would have acted indifferently. But the one in danger was the Crown Princess— Layla\'s heir. He would never let anything happen to her. It took more than a thousand years before an heir to her legacy appeared, and he had to ensure that she survives in this lifetime.

Kyran furrowed his brows after seeing Haylee\'s apparent breakdown.

Was his revelation too stimulating that she actually broke down? That should not be the case, right?

Unbeknownst to him, his revelation was only the trigger. Although most of the reason why Haylee was in such a state was all because of him.

Kyran also looked at the gray mist that seemed to twirl around Haylee.

One would think the mist was trying to protect her. But Kyran knew better. He could sense something sinister and even familiar with that gray mist. It was definitely not trying to protect Haylee but was actually attacking her.

Before Kyran could examine the mist further, the surroundings suddenly turned heavy as an unbelievable magic pressure fell down on them.

Kyran recognized the pressure was from Osric. However, this pressure was different from the one he used during their fight. It was far more powerful than that time and the killing intent swirling within was far more concentrated, to the point it was almost palpable it was suffocating.

Obviously, Osric was finally getting serious.

The thought somewhat surprised Kyran and even made him slightly in awe because this meant the times Osric fought him and then Tritus, was not yet his true strength. Or at least, he had not truly given his all.

Now that Haylee was in a vulnerable state, Osric snapped and was willing to burn away his life force in order to protect her.

Kyran had no plans on going all out with Osric. It was not that he was afraid. It was because he could sense something approaching from the hole in the sky. Aside from this, he could sense Light\'s apprehension and it was definitely not because of Osric\'s \'serious mode.\'

The Boyd family members circled Haylee and created a protective shield. They did not try to touch the mist, since they were already aware of what it could do. Nevertheless, they wanted to ensure that no outside harm would come to their princess.

They looked at Kyran with eyes full of determination. Without them saying anything, it was clear that they were ready to die for her if Kyran made a move.

Of course, Osric would not let Kyran approach the princess, but that did not mean they would slack off. It was better to worry excessively than to be sorry.

\'New Void Master.\'

Light suddenly sent out a telepathic message to Kyran.

\'I don\'t really care if you want to fight these people. But there is something you need to know.\'

\'What?\' Kyran asked curtly. Although he did not have the leisure to think of other things, he knew anything Light had to say was important and related to what was happening outside the Human plane.

\'More Sovereigns from our faction have arrived outside. The Sovereign\'s Cradle is already weakening, if it is not reinforced at once, then those guys will ascend without their mage levels being suppressed.\'

Kyran\'s face darkened as he thought of Nolan outside with Ruin. He cared less about the latter, but if something happened to Nolan... Kyran did not want to think about it.

In any case, his mother would definitely not like it. And he also did not want to deliver such a piece of gruesome news just when they had just gotten over a predicament.

As if sensing Kyran\'s thoughts, Light said, \'You don\'t have to make such a scary face. Although I said they have arrived. I don\'t think they plan on making a move against Ruin.\'

\'Ruin?\'

Light was somewhat surprised, \'You don\'t know?\'

\'Know what—?\'

"For making our mistress suffer, I will cripple you!" Osric growled at Kyran.

Kyran frowned slightly. He was not annoyed at Osric\'s words but at being interrupted. To Kyran, his discussion with Light was far more important than Osric\'s tantrum.

"I don\'t have the time to deal with you," Kyran told Osric in a low deadpan tone, the Boyd family members who managed to hear him felt indignant.

This guy was still looking down on them? Was he really that powerful?

That was a stupid question.

Obviously, Kyran was powerful because he was not only someone from the Regis Clan but also the new Dark Sage. Such an existence was practically invincible to most of them.

Nevertheless, they equally knew that Osric was no pushover. He was someone who lived in the Chaos Era. He was their Ancestor, whose mage level was likely the most powerful in the whole world.

Even if Kyran possessed the most powerful forbidden magic, the Void, to the Boyd family members, he was still green compared to Osric.

"That doesn\'t matter. When I say I\'ll cripple you, then I will cripple you—OI!"

Before Osric could even continue what he was saying, Kyran already warped and left the villa.

"KYRAN REGIS! COME BACK HERE!"

Osric\'s powerful voice boomed in the air, shaking the whole villa and the nearby buildings almost collapse.

In the end, Kyran did not return.

It was to be expected. Just because Osric told him to come back, did not mean he would listen.

It was similar to a person trying to escape someone, and that someone actually asked that person to stop. Would that person stop? Of course not.

"AAAAARGH!"

Osric\'s magic energy exploded, nearly destroying everything— except the area where the Boyd family members were protecting Haylee— within a hundred meters from him.

Meanwhile, Kyran warped and appeared where Styx and the others were at. They had already rendezvous after Hamish found Neo.

As soon as Kyran appeared, the other mercenaries were surprised. They had been told of the situation but they had yet to meet Kyran. Only Styx, Dante, Owen and Hamish had met him in person and knew who he really was. Or at least, they knew that the Tyr with them was not the real one but one of Kyran\'s puppets.

"What are you doing here—?"

Before Styx could even finish what he was saying, Kyran waved his hand and took all of them to his Void world. After which, he warped again and went back to the Tower of Conclave.
