Chapter 593: 291: Trouble Will Happen if You Look for Trouble!_1
Except for Jin Ya’s lineage, everyone else within the Brilliant Family was considered a servant.
This inevitably led to a lack of attention given to Jin Ya by Jin Chen and Bai Ying.
The complexities of managing the family affairs meant Jin Chen and Bai Ying had to invest significant time in decision-making.
Both felt guilty about this lack of attention towards Jin Ya, so they chose to turn a blind eye even when Jin Ya carried out some questionable actions.
Jin Chen turned around and pushed open the door to his study.
“Xiao Ya, there’s no need for you to keep us guessing. Do tell us if there’s something on your mind.”
“Given the family’s current state of affairs, you must take a servant with you if you wish to go out. You can’t secretly slip out on your own anymore!”
At these words, Jin Ya let out an exasperating sigh.
Five years ago, she had sneaked out of the Brilliant Castle without a guard and was found within two hours.
Ever since her father found out about the incident, he had not stopped reminding her about it.
At thirteen, Jin Ya hadn’t valued safety very much.
But now that she had grown up, she wouldn’t dare go out without a guard, regardless of whether the family was in trouble or not!
Jin Ya entered her room and locked the door behind her. Without waiting for her parents to sit down, she got straight to the point.
“Mom, Dad, I’ve found a way to prolong Great-Grandma’s life!”
“This method is truly effective; it’s been tried and tested!”
“I want to leave the family with Great-Grandma for a while to help her prolong her life!”
Jin Ya was direct and forthright about the situation.
This revelation stunned Jin Chen and Bai Ying, causing them to freeze just as they were about to sit down.
Even though they weren’t able to accompany Jin Ya in her childhood, they knew her well enough to understand that she was very careful in her actions.
They knew that Jin Ya must have been positive about the effectiveness of this method before mentioning it.
“Is this method obtained from the secret organization you joined?” Jin Chen asked instinctively.
Jin Ya was taken aback and asked uncertainly, “Dad, you knew about this?”
A hint of exasperation crossed Jin Chen’s face.
“Xiao Ya, you’ve been excessively utilising resources from the family treasury over the past few years, consuming more in a year than even the Hexagram Beastmasters who are tasked with Cultivating Beasts!”
“If your mother and I hadn’t noticed, we might doubt if you’re really our own child!”
“Only once we verified that this secretive organization means you no harm did we choose not to interfere.”
Adding quietly to himself, Jin Chen thought, “I didn’t expect the secret organization that Jin Ya joined to be capable of such things!”
If he had known earlier, the family should have offered Jin Ya more support.
Hearing her father’s words, Jin Ya understood that while her father knew that she had joined a secret organization, he was unaware of the existence of the Starwheel.
Moreover, neither her father nor her mother had the intention to probe further into her affairs.
Their understanding and acceptance moved Jin Ya deeply.
“Dad, I’m discussing prolonging Great-Grandma’s lifespan twice. The first time will add ten years, and the second time will add a hundred years!”
“However, to maximize the benefit, the prolongation of life should be carried out when there’s only one year of lifespan left!”
“The person I’m dealing with is currently in the Panfeng Federation, and I hope to take Great-Grandma there!”
Jin Chen and Bai Ying hadn’t held much hope in the method Jin Ya claimed could prolong life.
The Brilliant Family had always been seeking methods to prolong the lifespan of their elders.
Apart from having their elders form more contracts with Guardian Beasts, and trying their best to enhance the strength of the Guardian Beasts to acquire Star Marks.
The Brilliant Family also found some precious resources that could increase lifespan.
These resources could increase one’s lifespan by three to five years at most, but only by a few months at the least.
However, the more one consumed these resources, the greater the body’s resistance to their effects became.
Even if they now procured a resource that could normally add three to five years to a person’s lifespan, it would probably fail to add even one year to their elder’s life.
They had assumed that Jin Ya had obtained such resources from her organization, yet they were shocked to learn that it could increase life expectancy by a whole 110 years at a time.
This method of increasing lifespan was likely unrelated to the precious resources.
Bai Ying, excited beyond control, exclaimed,
“Let’s go! I’m taking you to see the old lady now!”
“Then we can arrange a Beast Car to secretly transport you and the old lady to the Panfeng Federation.”
“At this crucial time, we cannot let the other powers know that the elder is no longer within the Brilliant Castle.”
Jin Chen didn’t stop Bai Ying, but as she was about to open the door to the study, he said seriously,
“Xiao Ya, no matter what they ask, agree to it. Don’t haggle!”
“And try to maintain good relations with them!”
“If they can help your Great-Grandma increase her lifespan, they should be able to do the same for others!”
Jin Chen thought much farther than Jin Ya did.
The elder indeed held the highest power within the family, but there were many other formidable individuals as well.
Quite a few of these top-ranking figures in the family were nearing the ends of their lives.
Training a top-tier power was undeniably more resource-consuming than prolonging life.
