Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1397: The Path

Chapter 1397: The Path

Originally, they were planning to capture the Spirit Ark and Shang Xia and the rest to lead them to the Essence Du World.

They didn’t think that they kicked an iron board. Shang Xia killed several Star Beasts earlier when he unleashed his mighty strike, not just those who were fleeing, and he even discovered 2 Beast Warriors.

Beast Warriors had a strange way of communicating with each other and most of them didn’t gather together to begin with. After seeing how Shang Xia killed their companions, other Beast Warriors started to surround them in all directions.

They learned their lesson and didn’t attack the Spirit Ark immediately. Instead, they used some sort of tracking art in an attempt to locate the Essence Du World first.

Shang Xia could tell that there were other Beast Warriors hiding in the void. He was trying to bait them out by staying longer earlier. He actually wanted to use them to muddy the waters, but he didn’t think that the Essence Du World’s Sage would actually make a move!

Fortunately, his target was the Beast Warriors and Shang Xia and the others were merely collateral damage. The person who attacked also barely entered the Martial Emptiness Realm and was far from comparable to the expert in the Essence Ling Heavenly Field. That was how Shang Xia managed to get away so easily while still protecting the Spirit Ark.

“Is the Sage going to attack again?” Song Zhen asked, slightly worried.

Shang Xia’s expression sank and he didn’t respond. He wasn’t confident either as he had pierced a hole through the palm earlier despite the attack not being aimed at him.

Well, the answer came quickly. The void started to churn once again and another giant palm formed. It slapped at the rank six Star Beasts the next moment.

Both injured Star Beasts struggled desperately as they tried to escape with the help of the third. However, the third Star Beast acted decisively and ditched both of them. Its huge body turned into a streak of light that disappeared into the chaotic streams of space.

Rumble...

Another powerful shockwave slammed into the Spirit Ark, but with Shang Xia present, it remained motionless in the void.

After the slap landed, both Star Beasts were turned into dust.

Shang Xia looked into the distance and no one knew what he was thinking about. A moment later, he turned to Song Zhen and waved his arm. “Let’s go. We won’t run into any dangers on our way back.”

“Oh...” Song Zhen instinctively followed Shang Xia’s instructions, and as the Spirit Ark started to move, he suddenly thought of something and gasped, “Lord... Won’t the Essence Du World’s Sage move against us? Is there something we don’t understand?”

“I have my guesses, but they aren’t baseless. I need to seek confirmation about it but I might only know when I actually peer into the Martial Emptiness Realm...” Shang Xia didn’t hide anything and said casually.

Song Zhen was slightly taken aback, but his eyes lit up the next moment. “Lord, are you going to take another step forward in your journey of cultivation?!”

Shang Xia grinned, but he shook his head slowly. “I’m still lacking a little. However, if we manage to return to our Spirit Luxuriant World without any hiccups, I don’t plan to split this World Fragment with anyone else. It might be enough for me to reach the level of Extreme Harmonization.”

“Congratulations in advance!” Song Zhen bowed before he continued, “Lord, you obtained the world fragment. You should be the one who obtains the benefits of the World’s Will blessing.”

Shang Xia laughed in response, “Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. The Martial Emptiness Realm Sage of the Essence Du World won’t move against us and there’s no need for us to conceal our tracks. If I’m not mistaken, there should be a bunch of experts from the Essence Du World surrounding the region outside the chaotic streams.”

Song Zhen’s expression changed again, but he soon made up his mind and roared, “I am willing to follow the Lord’s instructions! Even if I have to jump into a sea of fire, I won’t hesitate!”

Shang Xia waved his arms and sighed, “Go steer the ship. Ask Yan Ming if we can change our course slightly to escape their encirclement. However, if that is really the case, the secret passage provided by the Spirit Tip World will be revealed.”

Song Zhen nodded solemnly before rushing back to the bridge.

What came next was exactly as Shang Xia had expected. They didn’t encounter any danger while traveling through the chaotic streams and they eventually arrived at a calm belt between the chaotic streams and the region of space around the Essence Du World.

Everyone on board prepared for battle as they got ready to be surrounded by the experts of the Essence Du World. However, Shang Xia and Yan Ming discovered a massive battle breaking out in the distance. Originally, they would try to avoid the battle as much as possible to prevent the Spirit Ark from being damaged.

However, they couldn’t do that! That was because the battle was happening directly in their path!

“The Spirit Tip World’s secret passage might have already been exposed and both sides might be fighting now!” Shang Xia guessed.

Song Zhen, who learned about the battle in the distance from Yan Ming, sighed helplessly, “What a coincidence! How did the members of the Spirit Tip World run into them?! We can’t avoid the battle this time and we have to help those of the Spirit Tip World...”

Shang Xia nodded in response. “Let’s go!”

Song Zhen directed the Spirit Ark towards the great battle while also preparing to join the battle.

As they approached, Shang Xia instructed, “Stay here and protect the ark. I’ll head over and open a path for us. Follow behind me closely and ensure the ark is alright at all costs.”

Song Zhen was slightly taken aback and he didn’t know how Shang Xia could make creating a path through the major battle sound so easy. However, he felt that Shang Xia would be able to achieve it easily.

Giving Song Zhen one last look, Shang Xia stepped out of the ark and disappeared into the chaotic streams.

Recovering from his shock, Song Zhen yelled at the other cultivators on board who also snapped out of confusion. “Hurry! Follow him!”

Yan Ming and the rest followed his order and the Spirit Ark started to accelerate. However, Yan Ming’s worried cry soon followed. “How fast should we go?!”

Song Zhen gnashed his teeth and growled, “Fuck it! The faster the better!”

Everyone’s expression changed slightly, but they followed Song Zhen’s order to the letter. They chose to believe in Shang Xia.

With the intense fluctuation caused by the battle, the chaotic streams became even more unsteady. As they continued to accelerate, they started to rush straight into the heart of the battle and the spatial storms they were experiencing only grew stronger.

The Spirit Ark had lost the protection of the Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman a long time ago, and the protection barrier around it was growing increasingly fragile. It looked like it would pop even with the control of the experts of the institution, and the sound of glass cracking filled their ears.

“We won’t be able to hold on for much longer! The Spirit Ark will break...” Yan Ming yelled at Song Zhen who wasn’t far away.

Even though they were standing close to each other, her voice was still distorted.

However, Song Zhen didn’t seem to hear her as he stared at the battle, which increased in intensity in front of them. They looked like a moth flying straight into the fire as they sped up continuously.

“Fuck! This is crazy! 2 crazy fools...” Yan Ming yelled. Even so, her voice could no longer be heard by anyone.

The next instant, a mighty rod descended from above the battlefield. Under the shocked gazes of those present, the battlefield which consisted of even high-level True Immortals was split apart, with the void shattering wherever the rod passed.

One had to know that they were close to the chaotic streams and the void was extremely unsteady. With many high-level True Immortals fighting there, the void was already mighty fragmented.

A path was created through the battlefield, and that wasn’t all. As it passed, the void that shattered around it froze suddenly and became extremely stable.

Both sides might have been frightened by the appearance of the sudden strike, but they were able to engage their opponent quickly after getting over their shock.

The path might have been created, but another strange energy appeared suddenly to try to destroy it by eating away at the sealed space.

The Stone Rod that created the path through the battlefield appeared again, and this time, it stabbed towards the right of the sealed path.

A miserable grunt left the lips of a fourth tier True Immortal as the sound of space splitting filled the ears of those present. The fourth tier True Immortal spat out a mouthful of blood before tumbling away in an extremely sorry state. He didn’t dare to stay as he looked at the Stone Rod in complete fear before running away.
