Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1375: Time To Go

Chapter 1375: Time To Go

The giant Star Ship, that had been flying at the reinforcements of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field, also closed in on the battlefield where Gong Zhuo was and the chains of the anchor swept Gong Zhuo’s position without warning.

The True Immortals who rushed over failed to react in time as the chains of the anchor grabbed the sharp point that had been shot out earlier.

“That’s not good! He’s trying to escape!”

“We can’t let him get away!”

The True Immortals of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field tried to seal off the void, preventing Gong Zhuo from running. However, their clumsy and haphazard attempts to try to stop Gong Zhuo caused them to overlook the fact that the Wanyun Association’s Capital Star Ship used the chains of the anchor to pull itself into their fleet.

“Oh fuck! Stop the ship!”

“We fell for it!”

“...”

Chaos broke out among the True Immortals of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field.

They thought that Gong Zhuo would try to escape by using the chains of the anchor, but they didn’t think that the ship would use the opportunity to rush at them.

The second it arrived, it crashed straight into a Star Ship and turned it into space debris. The impact caused powerful spatial fluctuations, overturning another 2 ships, but with that, the Wanyun Association’s Capital Star Ship suffered massive damage.

It might still be rushing forward, but the protection layer from the Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman had dissipated. Shattering the Star Ship was only going to be a matter of time. With that, Gong Zhuo also lost the opportunity to escape.

Gong Zhuo didn’t seem too affected by it. He felt that everything he did was worth it. The other ships of the Wanyun Association managed to get pretty far away and would most likely be able to avoid the pursuit of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field.

The Essence Ling Heavenly Field suffered great casualties with 3 Star Ships destroyed and 3 damaged to the point they were out of commission.

After paying such a huge price, the True Immortals of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field felt that there was no other way Gong Zhuo could escape. Instead of trying to kill him, they wanted to take him alive in order to learn more information about the intruders.

The next second, the void in the distance crumbled and a snort that contained all the disdain the person speaking felt rang in the ears of those present. “Are you finally going to make your move? Isn’t it a little too late?”

Intense fluctuations filled the region as Zhang Shun who released his domain was sent flying through the sea of stars at a frightening speed. 2 high-level True Immortals rushed at him from behind.

The experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field weren’t fools. Even with Gong Zhuo’s distraction, they were able to react accordingly.

Gong Zhuo managed to disrupt the formation of their fleet, but they knew that someone else would try to save him. There was no way they would sacrifice a high-level True Immortal so easily!

Knowing what the intruders would do, the experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field already stationed several high-level True Immortals between the intruder’s fleet and their target. They were prepared to deal with any help that would arrive, and they even expected more than 1 expert to help.

Wanting to catch their opponents by surprise was also why they didn’t use their high-level True Immortals to stop the other 3 ships from escaping in the first place.

Once they dealt with the high-level True Immortals, the experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field knew that there would be nothing left to stop them from grabbing the rest of the Star Ships.

But of course... High-level True Immortals weren’t so easily intercepted or killed.

Zhang Shun was the first to take action to try to save Gong Zhuo, but he was intercepted and suffered in their first exchange.

In the other direction, Shang Xia, who saw how Zhang Shun caught the attention of the experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Screen, hid himself and approached Gong Zhuo. His superior divine sense that surpassed experts of the same level allowed him to learn that they weren’t attacking Gong Zhuo despite surrounding him, and they actually weren’t showing much hostile intentions. How could he not understand that there was a trap waiting for him the moment he arrived?

Without hesitation, Shang Xia unleashed Void Seal while revealing himself.

His mystical technique froze the space 300 miles around himself. No one within could move and if anyone wanted to enter would have to shatter the void.

If not for Shang Xia concentrating the power of his fourth move, he would affect a much larger area!

Whatever it was, 300 miles was more than enough for what he wanted to do. His technique froze everyone else and in the blink of an eye, he dragged Gong Zhuo out from the encirclement. The experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Screen could only watch as their bait was taken away.

Despite extracting Gong Zhuo, escaping wasn’t going to be easy.

Shang Xia might have sealed the fourth tier True Immortal on the other side, but those hiding outside the region of his Void Seal wouldn’t allow him to leave so easily.

Another fourth tier True Immortal emerged from the void to stand in Shang Xia’s way. A sea of fire descended as soon as he arrived, swallowing Shang Xia and Gong Zhuo.

It didn’t really make sense for a fourth tier True Immortal to try to stop a fifth tier True Immortal head-on, but he was only buying time for his fellow experts to arrive.

The fourth tier tier True Immortal Shang Xia sealed was caught by surprise, but he quickly broke the seal and rushed over. It wouldn’t take long before they were surrounded by the True Immortals of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field.

In front of absolute power, even if Shang Xia had tons of tricks up his sleeves, it would be useless.

Shang Xia naturally understood the implication and he didn’t hesitate to activate a Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman. A cloud of dense light surrounded him and he ignored everything while rushing at the expert who summoned the sea of flames who stood in his way.

The fourth tier True Immortal who tried to stop Shang Xia with the sea of flames cursed out loud at the recklessness of the intruders. He didn’t know why the fifth tier True Immortal looked like he was planning to sacrifice himself in order to save another.

The thought of stopping Shang Xia didn’t even cross his mind. As the fifth tier True Immortal approached, he quickly dodged to the side.

What a joke! Even if he’s not a fifth tier True Immortal, I can’t break the defensive barrier created by the talisman he activated!

Shang Xia forced his way out after activating the talisman, and the moment he passed the fourth tier True Immortal, he activated a rank five Abyssal Emptiness Talisman in order to travel quickly through the void.

He managed to distance himself from the experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field with that.

When Shang Xia agreed to save Gong Zhuo, Zhang Shun and the others were certain he had a Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman of his own. He also had Six Harmony Teleportation Talismans, but using it under such circumstances would be asking for trouble.

He might have run, but the experts of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field didn’t plan to let him get away. Shang Xia might have talismans that allowed him to move easily through the void, but so did the other side.

A high-level True Immortal who was chasing after Zhang Shun suddenly disengaged to try to intercept Shang Xia, forming a pincer formation with the others chasing from behind.

Gong Zhuo, who hadn’t said a word since Shang Xia moved to save him, finally forced a chuckle, “True Immortal Shang, our Wanyun Association and myself feel extremely indebted to you. However, neither of us will be able to escape if this keeps up. Please... Leave me behind and get out of this encirclement.”

Shang Xia didn’t say anything. After activating the Myriad Tinted Cloud Talisman earlier, he had been storing energy while running.

As the words left Gong Zhuo’s lips, Shang Xia turned around abruptly and swung his Stone Rod, unleashing all his might.

A horrifying pressure descended as the void shattered in both directions where his staff passed.

A fifth tier True Immortal, who appeared while Shang Xia was escaping with Gong Zhuo, gasped in fright as he moved away from the rod that was rapidly growing larger.

The fourth tier True Immortal behind him who had summoned the sea of flames earlier didn’t bother thinking about what his next course of action should be as he dodged in the other direction when he saw the fifth tier True Immortal avoiding the blow.

The high-level True Immortals might have moved to the side, but the 2 True Immortals behind them weren’t able to move as quickly. With Shang Xia’s Stone Rod smashing down, a third tier True Immortal was vaporized. Not a trace of him remained and the other second tier True Immortal lost an arm to the void fluctuations.

Everyone behind them scattered in horror and no other True Immortals were killed. However, the void that ripped from the strike destroyed 6 Star Ships that failed to dodge. Not a single person on those ships. With their destruction, Essence Ling Heavenly Field’s fleet was split by a massive rift in space.

Shang Xia glared at the True Immortals of the Essence Ling Heavenly Field who hadn’t snapped back to reality after barely keeping their lives from avoiding his blow. He also grabbed the shocked Gong Zhuo while running back to meet up with Zhang Shun.

The high-level True Immortal who disengaged from the battle with Zhang Shun to try to pincer Shang Xia saw the ball of rainbow light flying at him and decided to dodge at the very last second. He watched as the 2 intruders flew past him with a face full of shock.
