Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1377: Scheme and Projection

Chapter 1377: Scheme and Projection

Actually... With things as they were, Zhang Shun was definitely able to save a few experts with his abilities.

At the same time, Shang Xia wasn’t surprised that the Star Ship he was on had been directed to block the last palm.

No one could blame Zhang Shun for his decision, but Shang Xia wasn’t from the Wanyun Association. He was merely hired help, and he wouldn’t stay on the ship that was rushing towards a giant palm infused with Seventh Order energy. In such a desperate scenario, Shang Xia had no responsibility to save the experts of the Wanyun Association.

He didn’t hesitate to leave the ship he was on.

Who would have thought that the very instant he decided to leave, a thin barrier would surround the ship, stopping him for a very short moment?

Turning around to glare at the Spirit Ark, Shang Xia discovered it had already changed direction and started to leave. He seemed to meet Zhang Shun’s cold gaze and see the expressionless face of the Director of the Wanyun Association.

Good... This is fucking amazing...

The barrier wasn’t enough to stop Shang Xia for long, but it wouldn’t take long for the palm to arrive either.

In the chaotic streams of space, even if Shang Xia had powerful escaping talismans like the Six Harmony Teleportation Talisman, he wouldn’t dare to use them!

Zhang Shun didn’t just want to stall the giant palm with the Star Ship. He wanted to use Shang Xia and all his trump cards to deal with the sudden threat.

According to Zhang Shun, betraying someone like Shang Xia was nothing if he could successfully bring the world fragment back to the Essence Xing World. Not to mention the fact that Shang Xia was a foreign expert to begin with.

He might be a powerful fifth tier True Immortal, but he would have to survive the attack before he could do anything!

Moreover...

Essence Ping World? What a big fucking lie!

...

The second those palms appeared, Shang Xia could clearly see the streams of energy flowing through them.

Bang!

With the deck beneath him blown open, the Martial Dipper Realm expert from the Wanyun Association who gave him the book earlier crawled on board and gasped, “True Immortal Shang, we have close to 100 fellow cultivators on board, please save...”

His gaze fell on the giant palm that was approaching and he fell silent instantly.

Before he could continue to beg to be saved, Shang Xia snorted coldly before tearing through the thin barrier that had stopped him earlier.

Despair filled the heart of the Martial Dipper Realm cultivator when he saw the only high-level True Immortal on board leaving.

All of them knew what was coming as reluctant howls came from the deck below. Many streams of light emerged from the Star Ship to strike at the palm that was coming down but they didn’t so much as scratch it.

Covering his eyes, he prepared himself for their fate after being abandoned by his sect.

The next second, a majestic divine soul appeared to cover a portion of the ship and the Martial Dipper Realm expert on the deck quickly crawled within

It’s over...

Even though they entered the range of the powerful soul, he felt the world around him turning quiet. It was as though everything became silent before he was no longer able to feel anything.

Is this the feeling of death?

He wondered what had happened, but after thinking about it, he realized that if he left for the afterlife so painlessly, it wasn’t a bad way to go.

Wait... Why can I still think of so many things?

As soon as the thought crossed his mind, a searing pain arrived. Even as an expert in the Martial Dipper Realm, he was unable to control the churning of qi in his body.

He was still stuck with his face planted on the deck, and he didn’t know how many limbs he had broken. None of his ribs were intact either as blood streamed out his lips, nose, and ears. He could tell that he had suffered heavy injuries, and it wasn’t going to be easy to recover.

But... He was still alive!

He could feel the qi rushing through his dantian as his cultivation was still intact.

Joy washed over him, and he couldn’t help but spit out another mouthful of blood. Lying on the deck of the ship, he was thrown about as it tumbled through the chaotic streams of space.

Soon after, he discovered something unbelievable. Even the barrier that was protecting the ship remained!

It looked like it was about to pop like a bubble, but it still covered the entire ship, protecting it from the chaotic streams...

Struggling to raise his head, he saw that many parts of the ship had suffered catastrophic destruction, which made him wonder how the barrier was still intact.

He quickly arranged his thoughts and realized something.

How am I still alive? How is the ship still here?

Under the might of Seventh Order energy, he had seen how the other ship was blown to space dust.

Someone saved us...

Connecting the dots, he tried to raise his head a little more in order to see what was happening out there. He wanted to see it for himself despite already having a guess in mind.

A deafening blast rang in the ears of everyone present as the Star Ship was sent tumbling through the chaotic streams. It spun around even as it flew and eventually, the barrier of light covering it shattered. Huge portions of the ship started breaking down once again...

Just when he thought he was going to die again, the deck crumbled inwards and he fell deep into the wreckage, unable to see what was happening outside.

In the chaotic streams, a pale Shang Xia stared at the second palm that was slowly approaching with a grim expression. His hands gripped a strange truncheon that was 5 feet long and had 4 deep ridges. Just as he continued to store energy and was about to strike out a third time, the weakness he felt coming from his dantian told him that he was running on empty.

When he rushed out of the Star Ship earlier, he suddenly felt a response from the Crimson Soul Tablet before summoning a strange phantom of the truncheon. It was different from the Crimson Soul Tablet Shang Xia summoned in the past.

The phantom of the Crimson Soul Tablet in the form in his hand seemed a lot more condensed, but he knew that it wasn’t an actual weapon. It could only materialize in his hand!

Also, after swinging it twice, the Six Direction Qi in his dantian ran out completely.

It was the first time Shang Xia had used up all his energy after entering the Six Direction Realm.

However... Even after swinging twice, he only managed to shatter 1 of the 3 palms.

He could tell that there was something special about the Seventh Order energy contained in the palms compared to the energy contained in the attacks they sent out. That was also why Zhang Shun gave up on the Star Ships so decisively.

After shattering the first palm with his new weapon, Shang Xia discovered that the Seventh Order energy was definitely unleashed by someone in the Martial Emptiness Realm. He could feel that the Seventh Order energy was being manipulated by someone and was a lot more nimble than when they used it.

Perhaps it was due to the influence of the chaotic streams, or because the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage was too far away, or it might even be because the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage was hesitating... There might be other factors involved as well.

As Shang Xia stared at the giant palm in the distance, it started to crumble suddenly, waves of energy washing into the streams of chaotic space around them.

He heaved a sigh of relief as the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet in his hand disappeared.

Feeling his empty dantian, Shang Xia forced a smile and grabbed 2 top-grade essence crystals from his Spatial Pouch and started to absorb them to restore his inner qi.

He tried to think of who the mysterious expert might be and knew that the most likely culprit would be the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage from the Essence Ling Heavenly Field.

The Sage was said to have either reached the end of his lifespan or out traveling the sea of stars, which was why the Wanyun Association and the Twin Star Pirates had the guts to attack the Spirit Dawn World.

When they started the attack, their spies mentioned that the Sage had reappeared after many years of being uncontactable.

As they were already in the middle of the assault, they had to finish it as soon as possible and complete their plan. Since the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage heard of the news that his Heavenly Field was under attack, he had to make a move to punish the intruders.

Fortunately for them, the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage might have caught on to their position in the chaotic sea of stars, but from how he never appeared, it was highly likely he hadn’t returned.

The consequences would be dire if he did. Even if Shang Xia could unleash another strike, he wouldn’t be able to defeat a Martial Emptiness Realm Sage!

In other words... The Martial Emptiness Realm Sage unleashed an attack on the Wanyun Association’s fleet from so far away, but he still managed to accurately locate them while destroying most of their fleet. It was a terrifying feat in itself.

Shang Xia had to thank his lucky stars he didn’t appear by himself. That was the only reason he was still alive!
